Rhonda Gray, Just Dance
Acrylic and ink on canvas, 30x30cm

Rhonda Gray generously donated this painting to help us raise money for lighting in our newly renovated Gallery shop.  The raffle raised $300 and was won by a very happy Longford visitor to the Gallery.

THE GAGA SERIES at East Gippsland Art Gallery until 30 March 2019

Inspired by the music of Lady Gaga, this series of paintings is currently on display in the East Gippsland Art Gallery shop. These paintings come from the quirky side of her work where Rhonda takes a ‘what will be will be’ approach. It’s a relaxed style purely from imagination. No precise drawing takes place, it all starts with a few basic kitchen utensils, an ink bottle, paint and some garden sticks!

Rhonda Gray is an established local artist, painting in many varied contemporary styles. Rhonda can be painting hyper-realism one day, and figurative or stylised the next.

Rhonda is an award-winning artist, recently receiving ‘Best Modern Work’ at the Camberwell Art Show in Melbourne. Rhonda has participated in many group exhibitions and has appeared on the TV series Colour in your life, a series of documentaries about living artists across the world. Rhonda’s works have been acquired for collections, both public and private and have been exhibited in metropolitan and regional galleries.

In 2013, Rhonda established the ‘Rhonda Gray School of Art’ delivering regular classes and workshops in Bairnsdale, across Victoria, interstate and overseas.
