Message of Solidarity
12/09/2025

We write with deep sadness and anger following the recent violent, racist attack by neo-Nazi extremists at Camp Sovereignty. This hateful act was an attempt to instil fear, disrupt cultural gathering, and assert white supremacy over a sacred Aboriginal space. We condemn it unequivocally.

This was not only an attack on a peaceful gathering — it was an attack on truth-telling, culture, ceremony, and the safety of those who uphold and protect Aboriginal sovereignty. It must be recognised for what it is: an act of hate designed to divide and intimidate. It must be met with strength, resistance, and solidarity.

We acknowledge Camp Sovereignty as a place of deep cultural and spiritual significance — a place of healing, ceremony, resistance, and history. To attack it is to attack the dignity and rights of all First Peoples, and of every community that values justice, safety, and truth.

Racist violence and intimidation can never be ignored or normalised. We commit to standing with First Peoples and amplifying their voices. To all First Peoples, and to all who have felt unsafe, silenced, or disrespected in the wake of this violence, we say: You are not alone. You are valued. You are respected. You are powerful.

We honour the courage it takes to continue holding space, protecting culture, and standing in truth — especially in the face of hate. Your leadership lights the path toward justice and dignity for all.
